Justice of the Peace Updates

Just like with all State and Federal Licenses and Certificates there is a time for all CT Justice of the Peace to have their refresher and take their oath in the town to which they are certified, and that time is now. A Certified Justice of the Peace in the State of CT has a term the same amount of time as that of that of the President of the United States, which is four years. This term officially starts on January 3, 2017 and ends on January 4, 2021. In order to be relieved of your duties you must

Real Wedding- CT Shoreline August 2016, Marnie and Steve

Marnie and Steve came to me to be their Justice of the Peace, and in minutes we were laughing and planning the big day. I am beyond thrilled to say I became part of the team as their planner/designer and as their Justice of the Peace.  I can honestly say we had a blast working together, so much laughter at our meetings and trust in the planning process. I was able to provide the couple with all the elements they desired to create their vision, which was incredibly important to them both (and to me too)! From their perfect beach

Aimee and Steve

It was a true pleasure working with Aimee and Steve on their September 2016 wedding. We started the process by discussing their sense of style and desire to have a day that their friends and family would truly enjoy. We created a five hour cocktail reception by starting with the creation of a special menu featuring new food and food stations every hour of the reception. No sit down dinner, a true cocktail party. With over 200 guests surrounding them this couple allowed Creative Concepts by Lisa the ability to to take their sense of style from beginning to end,

Real Shoreline Wedding: Mary-Beth and Jeff June 2016

One of my favorite hidden gems in Connecticut is the Owenego in Branford.  With a rustic shoreline feel, this family owned and operated venue is a true summer wedding find, a perfect home is waiting for you at the “O”. The gorgeous views of the Thimble Islands, the rustic wood bar, and ceiling beams, and fantastic lawn for your ceremony, is one of a kind! There are also on-site sleeping quarters where you enjoy a breeze right off the Long Island Sound. Thank you to Stilwell Photography for sharing these stunning pictures, and a congratulations to Mary-Beth and Jeff on an amazing wedding surrounded by

Why to Hire a Wedding Planner – straight from a 2016 Bride

As a wedding and event planner I am often asked- “Why should I hire you, my venue has a planner!” or “Why should I hire you I am great at DIY projects and plan great parties all the time.”  I have my opinion on this subject but I thought I would share with you some thoughts from a current client. We are in the process of planning her 2016 September Wedding and here is what she had to say about working with a planner/designer. I am a 2016 bride-to-be and the best decision I have made is hiring a wedding planner/designer. I wanted to

Your Cultural Affair

When working with Mehreen and Jonathan, they wanted to celebrate both their families and their cultural upbringings. Mehreen, the bride, was born and raised by a Pakistani Family here in the United States, and Jonathan, the groom, was raised on Long Island, NY by a Jewish Family. They were able to provide an amazing weekend of events full of love, culture, music and food, and of course, the bringing together of two families.  Friday evening the families were treated to a traditional Pakistani Wedding Ceremony, and then the weekend continued on Sunday where Creative Concepts was lucky enough to be their planner

Your Tent Wedding

When couples consider a tent wedding, it is often with the thought that it is in an inexpensive way to go. What they tend to forget is the time and effort that goes into such an undertaking, and how it is critical to have a planner/designer lead the charge on this special day! With an incredible relationship with Chase Canopy Company I wanted to highlight just a few of our favorite looks. From the more simple to the more ornate, your wedding dreams can come true right in your backyard, when you have the right team to make it happen!

Your Food Truck Wedding

Lighthouse Point Carousel at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, CT has long been sought after as a fun and fabulous place for your wedding day! But when Jaime and Jacob came looking to plan their August 2015 Wedding, we were in for a fun filled day at the circus! With a fun shoe-less ceremony on the beach, popcorn cocktail party, bbq buffet, and lots of food trucks we were off to a yummy start! Bring on the clowns, Chloe the VW Photo Bus and of course the Carousel and now we are having a day of true family fun

JP Vs. Ordained Minister, what you need to know!

Photo by http://www.happyhaha.com/ Many of my clients come to me to regarding their Wedding Ceremony and they very excitedly announce that “their cousin” or “their uncle” or their “college roommate” will be officiating over their wedding. It is certainly a trend to have somebody you know and love pronounce you “man and wife” on your wedding day.  However, it is very important to know the law in your particular state. In the State of CT it is very clear, if you are Ordained Online – you must be an actual practicing Ordained Minister for a wedding to recognized, in
